My name is Nick V from Grand Rapids/Lansing, MI. I got into minitrucks back around '93 at about the age of 12 due to envying the trucks that some installers at my dad's car stereo shop drove. I got my first truck (an '87 longbed S-10) as a hand me down from my grandpa at the age of 14 with 125k on it, whitewalls, towing package, and a topper :) I had it static dropped on 16" Camaro wheels and a roll pan when I got my license with a pair of Soundstream USA 10's and an Alpine deck. Over the years the modifications got deeper and eventually when we tore it apart for paint with my good friend Chris Mills and to bag it, we stepped back and looked at just the cab on the frame and thought.. what the hell... my as well body drop it since it's this far apart, so that's what happened. Chris painted the truck for me and he now owns his own shop in Holland, MI doing custom boats. ( Extreme Body Works aka www.boatcustoms.com ). I drove my S-10 as a daily driver every summer all summer long even after bagging/body dropping it, but it hid during the snowy season! Rain or shine, it was out on the road, at work, in the campus parking lot, or laid out in front of my apartment/house. I sold it to finish school and now i'm toying around with a few new project ideas. I've always been a VW nut as well and with my new toy I'm hoping to go in a new direction and combine the two by creating a custom with some of the customizing subtleties akin to the VW world, while still cutting it up and building it to drag.
