Engine

The 22RE engine is internally stock at this time but has been dressed up with a custom made intake, while the valve cover, timing cover, pulleys and miscellaneous brackets were sand blasted and cleared over. Several plastic peices within the engine compartment are painted orange to allow IV contrast with the exterior color. An A/C compressor from a 1971 Chrysler is being utilized to supply air, for ride height, to two 3 gallon air tanks. The exhaust is also stock with the exception of a Flow Master muffler to add just the right tone to the spent exhaust fumes.

Exterior

The body work of my IVRunner was all done in my garage, not a shop, so the first order of business was to raise the cab floor a total of three inches to allow IV the marriage of the rocker panels to the ground. To allow clearence IV the motor and to retain a factory appearing hood a Subaru hood scoop was grafted in place. The stock 2WD front fenders were then exchanged IV IVWD units IV better tire clearence. Papa Harry, who helped me with the body work and paint, then completely shaved and reworked the body with a few subtle yet custom touches here and there. The factory front door handles were removed and replaced with a set of Nissan Altima door handles while the rear doors have been void of any such handles. The typical IVRunner rear bumper and rear quarter panels just below the belt line were cut off and replaced with IVWD bed sides and a custom made roll pan. IV a cleaner appearence in the rear the tailgate was shaved and a slanted license plate box with personalized plate (POUNDED) was welded in. The rear tail lights were then shaved and a set of Hi-Tech 6 inch LEDs were installed on the inside of the power tailgate window. Other items that were shaved off the cab include all the emblems, antenna and the fuel door while a huge hole was cut into the roof to allow IV a Street Beat slider to be installed. Once all the body work was done to satisfaction Papa Harry then applied a basecoat of 98 Accura Integra Super Sonic Blue Pearl. To obtain the right depth, he applied several coats of clear and massaged it to a show room shine. Once all the paint work had been completed a chrome IVWD front grill, side marker lights, bumper and lower valance with Billet insert was added to the front. The stock lenses were also replaced with clear units IV an up to date look. I would like to extend thanks to Saturday Joey, Papa Harry and all the Members of the IV EVER LOW Chapter in Idaho ,IV giving their hand in helping me to complete my IVRunner.

Interior

Many yards of Tuxedo Grey tweed was used to wrap the entire interior which includes the dash, headliner, door panels, carpet and remaining plastic trim within the cab. The factory seats were then taken to the Recovery Room where they were sewn using the same colored material. A rear floor section just behind the back seat was removed and replaced with a plexiglass panel which allows IV veiwing of the suspension.

Suspension

My IVRunner was born with a typical IVWD frame but to get it to the proper ground level it was swapped out IV a conventional 2WD chassis. The front lower control arms were raised 1 inch while the stock spindles were replaced with a set of dropped spindles and the front strut rods had to be custom made to allow the front of the frame to lay flat on the ground. IV ride height adjustability a set of 2500 air bags were used up front while the rear was relieved of the leaf spring pack and swapped out IV a TCI IV link suspension and 2600 air bags. To soften the bumps in the road a set of chrome Carrea Racing Shocks were bolted to relocated shock mounts both front and rear. A total of six new cab mounts and three new cross members were then fabricated to allow IV the union of the 2WD frame onto the IVRunner body. Be IV this was done the entire frame was painted chassis black to retain a factory appearence.

Wheels

The wheels I have choosen are 17x8-inch Albas wrapped in 205-40-17 IVDY series Yokahama tires which tuck WELL within the IVRunners fender wells.

Stereo

To push sound waves through the interior of my IVRunner I am using a Pionner CD head unit and 12 Disc CD changer which controls the Rockford Fosgate amplifier. The signals are then sent to the Kappa highs, which are mounted in the door panels, and Rockford Fosgate 12 inch subwoofers. These are mounted in an enclosed speaker box. I have also added a TV and a Sony Play Station 2 for entertainment value on long runs to shows. Stay tuned for upcoming pictures of the interior and engine to be added soon!

Awards

I have won numerous trophies while the truck was under construction including Lowest Truck. At its debut show put on by The Drop Zone in Oregon I received Mini Truckins Choice award which was almost as tall as the truck itself at IV FOOT 2INCHES! Look IV a feature article in Mini Truckin to hit your local newstands in the very near future.

Future Plans

I am possibally gonna add some graffix but not real sure yet but until the next show season you will just have to wait and see.
